2.What are the properties of JIS G3115 SPV450 material?

Mechanical Properties

  • High Strength: JIS G3115 SPV450 steel has a high tensile strength, typically with a minimum yield strength of 450 MPa. This allows it to withstand heavy loads and mechanical stresses, making it suitable for applications in the construction of pressure vessels, bridges, and other large – scale engineering structures.
  • Good Ductility  : It also possesses good ductility, which means it can be deformed without breaking under tensile forces.
  • Toughness:Its toughness enables it to resist cracking and fracture under impact and dynamic loading conditions, enhancing the safety and reliability of structures in use.

Weldability: JIS G3115 SPV450 has good weldability. It can be welded using common welding methods such as arc welding and gas – shielded welding.

Corrosion Resistance: This material has a certain degree of corrosion resistance. It can resist the erosion of some common corrosive media to a certain extent, such as atmospheric corrosion and the corrosion of some weak acids and alkalis. This helps to extend the service life of the material in practical applications and reduces the need for frequent maintenance and replacement.

 

3.What the difference bewteen JIS G3115 SPV450 and EN10028-3 P355NH?

Standard Systems

  • P355NH: Belongs to the steel grades in the European standard (EN 10028), mainly used for manufacturing pressure vessels.
  • SPV450: It is a special steel plate for boilers and pressure vessels under the Japanese standard (JIS G3115).

Mechanical Properties

  • P355NH: For steel plates of different thicknesses, the yield strength ranges from 275 to 460 MPa, the tensile strength is 490–630 MPa, and the elongation is not less than 21%.
  • SPV450: The yield strength is 410–450 MPa, the tensile strength is 570–700 MPa, and the elongation is 26%. In comparison, SPV450 has a narrower yield strength range and relatively lower values, but higher tensile strength and better elongation than P355NH.

Application Fields

  • P355NH: Due to its good resistance to brittle fracture, it is widely used in manufacturing pressure vessels for storing compressed gases, especially in low-temperature environments.
  • SPV450: Mainly used in boiler equipment, container equipment, chemical equipment, petrochemical equipment, etc., such as manufacturing spherical storage tanks with a volume of more than 50 cubic meters, as well as class II and III containers and low-temperature pressure vessels such as single-layer welded containers and multi-layer hot-sleeved welded containers.

Weldability

  • P355NH: Has good weldability and resistance to brittle cracking. During welding, welding process parameters need to be controlled to ensure the quality of weld joints.
  • SPV450: Has good weldability and is easy to process and weld. Common welding methods can be used, but appropriate welding processes and parameters should also be selected to avoid welding defects.
