Advantages of LPG storage tanks and precautions for their use

Advantages of LPG Storage Tanks

  1. Reasonable overall structural design: Ensures stable and reliable operation with minimal vibration, low noise, and ease of operation and maintenance.
  2. Oil distribution plate-free cylinder structure: Reduces assembly process complexity and the number of sealing surfaces; triggers an alarm in case of compressed medium leakage, enhancing overall reliability.
  3. New membrane cavity curve: Improves the volumetric efficiency of the LPG storage tank and extends the service life of vulnerable components such as diaphragms and gas valves.
  4. Integrated oil pump station: Provides lubricating oil with stable pressure, clean quality, and adequate cooling for the lubrication of the LPG storage tank and the operation of the oil cylinder, while solving the oil leakage problem of original external LPG storage tanks.
  5. Highly automated control system: Fully guarantees the safe operation of the equipment.
  6. Skid-mounted chassis integration: Facilitates transportation, installation, and management of the equipment.

Precautions for Use

1.Cylinder Placement and Temperature Control
  • Store the gas cylinder in a well-ventilated area, keeping a distance of at least 1.5 meters from ignition sources or heat sources.
  • Never heat the cylinder with fire, boiling water, or direct sunlight. Regularly check the airtightness of cylinder valves, pipeline connections, and other joints to ensure no gas leakage. Use soapy water for leakage detection; never use an open flame to check for leaks.
2.Ignition and Operation Rules
  • When igniting, light the ignition source first, then open the gas valve—do not reverse this order.
  • Never leave the cylinder unattended during use to prevent boiling water from extinguishing the flame, which could cause liquefied gas to leak and trigger an explosion. After use, tightly close the valve to prevent leakage.
3.Residual Pressure and Residue Handling
  • Do not completely empty the liquefied gas in the cylinder; leave a certain residual pressure. The residual pressure should generally be greater than 49.03 kPa (i.e., 0.5 kg/cm², gauge pressure) to prevent air from entering the cylinder.
  • The residual liquid in the cylinder after use is also flammable and must not be poured out arbitrarily. Prevent fires caused by the flow and evaporation of residual liquid.
4.Maintenance and Inspection
  • LPG cylinders are pressure vessels that require proper maintenance and regular inspections. Avoid dropping or striking the cylinder during handling and use; do not use iron tools to knock open the valve. Prevent direct sunlight and long-term exposure to rain. Inspect the cylinder every two years.
5.Leakage Risks and Ventilation
  • Although the explosion range of liquefied petroleum gas is not very wide, its low lower explosion limit makes it prone to ignition and explosion once leaked.
  • Since LPG is heavier than air, it flows downward when leaked and accumulates in low-lying areas, creating a hidden danger of gas explosions. Therefore, in areas prone to gas leakage, relying solely on window ventilation is insufficient—pay attention to lower-level ventilation.
6.Emergency Measures for Leakage and Fire
  • If LPG leakage is detected indoors, immediately open windows for ventilation to allow the gas to disperse in a direction away from open flames. Strictly prohibit 动火 (open flames) in the vicinity. Use the gas again only after troubleshooting and the disappearance of its characteristic odor.
  • For spilled liquid on the ground, cover it with sand and remove it to a safe location. In case of a cylinder fire, immediately close the valve, move the cylinder to an open outdoor area, and extinguish the fire with dry powder fire extinguishers, carbon dioxide fire extinguishers, or a wet sack.
7.Safety Education
  • Educate children not to tamper with gas cylinders, and ensure users understand the safety knowledge for using cylinders.
